Reading documents: questions we get asked
- Can AI extract data from invoices and purchase orders reliably?
- Yes. AI reads the document and a person confirms the draft before it saves. Together that is more accurate than either on its own, and far faster than typing.
- Does every document cost an AI call?
- No. Once the system has seen a supplier's layout, that format is read locally with no model call. The systems we run get cheaper per document the longer they operate.
- What about scanned or photographed documents?
- They are read too. The confirmation step catches anything a camera blurred, so a photo of a delivery note ends up as accurate as a clean PDF.
- Can it push data into our accounting software?
- Yes. The factory system exports to the accountant's software and produces the quarterly outsourced work return, so the data goes where it is needed.
- Which file types can it handle?
- PDFs, scans and photos, plus Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Our filing assistant converts office formats on the way in, so AI tools can read files they otherwise could not.
