Pulling 3D models out of interactive PDFs

For an oral-care brand, we freed 3D product models trapped inside interactive PDFs that only opened properly in one desktop reader. A pipeline extracts each embedded model, converts it to a modern format, and packages it as a web 3D viewer anyone can open in a browser. The original PDFs stay untouched.

The source is never touched. Extraction reads the original PDF and writes everything elsewhere, so the document the client already circulated stays exactly as it was.
The challenge
3D product models were trapped inside PDFs that only opened properly in one desktop application, so most people who received them saw nothing.
Why it mattered
The brand had already invested in 3D models of its products. Locked in a format few people could open, that investment was invisible to the buyers and partners it was made for.
